Celebrating 20 Years

Shore Legal Access is 20 years old! And what a journey it’s been. We’ve grown from one staff member to 19 staff members across two locations. We’ve evolved from MId-Shore Pro Bono — the first regional pro bono organization in Maryland — to Shore Legal Access, reflecting our ability to serve the entire Eastern Shore. And we’ve served a whopping 40,638 individuals through 98,330 donated volunteer hours.

Throughout all these years, we’ve never lost sight of our vision though: ensuring all people on the Eastern Shore are empowered to resolve civil legal issues.

In the coming months, we’ll be sharing different ways to celebrate with us and reflect on this significant milestone in our history. We’ll be looking back at the people who have helped us reach this marker, like Sandy Brown, our first full-time executive director. We’ll share stories from clients, pro bono lawyers, staff members, and more on what Shore Legal Access means to them. We’ll explore what the future looks like for civil legal aid and our communities. And so much more.

However you’ve found us, however you’ve worked with us, you’re a part of our story. Cheers to celebrating 20 years!
