Through our internship program, students are exposed to a wide range of civil legal issues including: life planning, family law, bankruptcy, consumer debt, criminal record expungement, and housing law that help meet the needs of people with limited financial means. Students will learn about the civil legal system, along with its inherent barriers, and work with clients and partners of diverse backgrounds and experiences through the internship. Ideal for any undergraduate or graduate student who is interested in the law, social justice, community service, and non-profit management, we offer internship opportunities for the spring, summer, and fall semesters.

The Sandy Brown Public Interest Internship Program was created to honor Shore Legal Access’s recently retired executive director, Sandy Brown, and her work to increase access to civil justice for clients.
